NashvilleCyclist.com is proud to announce its team roster for the 2012 season.  The team employed a different strategy for building the roster in order to feed a unique set of long-term goals.

“2012 promises to be an exciting year for NashvilleCyclist.com due to the amount of new faces we have joining us.  We now have 29 total riders, but only four of us are returners.  I am humbled by the response to join, which has energized us all,” says team leader Timothy Hall.

What began as a search for Category 4/5 riders turned into a complete team building experience.  The team’s initial goal was to offer a home to unattached riders, build a lower category pipeline, and become a beacon for riders entering the competitive arena of bicycling.  The goal expanded quickly due to the overwhelming response from riders of all ages and abilities.  Riders migrating from as far as Alabama, California, Kentucky and Maryland caught wind of the growth and have said yes to the adventure.

“We have a wonderful mix of experienced racers as well as inexperienced, and both groups are eager to support one another.  Rider development will continue to be our primary focus within the team, and it’s our hope this continued philosophy will draw even more riders our way,” says Hall.

2012 will mark the team’s eighth year in existence and will boast its largest roster size ever.  The team was previously focused on a small group of higher level categories in road racing, but now plans to develop a complete team for cyclocross, mountain and track as well.  All of the new riders will showcase their talents on the road, but a few already have track and off-road experience to compete there too.

“I found it impossible to say no to some while saying yes to others.  The more I said yes the more clearly I saw a future where NashvilleCyclist.com would make an impact in all disciplines of cycling.  This growth makes complete sense for our team, but more importantly it’s healthy and necessary for the growth of our sport in Tennessee,” says Hall.

The team will continue its bicycle shop partnership with MOAB, with locations in Murfreesboro and Franklin.  Nashville based Real Design Wheels is also back for their second season.  Team members will wear uniform clothing made by Voler, a California based company.  Businesses interested in becoming a partner with NashvilleCyclist.com are encouraged to contact Timothy Hall at timhall@nashvillecyclist.com or call 615-310-3745.
