Soon after NashvilleCyclist.com turned on the light to join the team we received more inquiries than we could have ever imagined.  The simple act of saying “yes, come on in” is a tremendous game changer.

Team-less Cat 4 and Cat 5 riders quickly came knocking, but they decided to bust the door wide open to other categories, Masters and Women!  Saying yes was the only response that made sense when faced with the prospect of saying no to people without any sensible justification.  The history of our team since day one has been narrowly focused on developing a small group of top end racers.  That strategy served us well as our squad won multiple state championships, BAR jerseys, and saw many riders develop from Cat 4 to 3 to 2 and Cat 1.

This new approach to team building has opened our eyes wider to countless worthwhile opportunities.  Our team is being altered in positive ways that will last well into the future, and because of our changes we believe the local landscape will be more robust and competitive.  Saying yes requires more work and can be a difficult task, but the upside to yes exceeds the lack of opportunities by saying no.

As it stands now our roster has nearly 25 total riders at every level, male and female, within multiple disciplines.  We are open to adding more enthusiastic competitors, but we have a deadline of January 1^st to set our final roster.  Read our initial plea for Cat 4 and Cat 5 riders to find out what we are seeking.  Beyond those requests we are eager to add more women, cyclocross, mountain, road and track riders (yes, track!).  Our goal in time is to become more than just a road racing team, and instead field a competitive squad in every discipline.

When we announce the official roster we expect people to be surprised, maybe puzzled with raised eyebrows, but ultimately be excited to race against so many new faces in baby blue.  We guarantee 2012 will be exciting and fun.  Join us.
