NashvilleCyclist.com is building a team of Category 4 and Category 5 riders for the upcoming 2012 racing season.

The team transfers and changes taking place during the fall/winter of 2011 are shaking up the landscape of the local racing community, and we at NashvilleCyclist.com are not immune to those changes.  When changes like this take place you have to reset your vision to not only meet the needs of your team, but to also meet the needs of area riders and take advantage of the opportunity before you.

Because of these changes the time has come for us to kick start a Category 4 and Category 5 racing team for 2012 and beyond.  The past couple of years there has been an influx of new racers competing without a team to call home.  We feel it is important to decrease the number of “unattached” riders and provide a home so racers will become more strongly connected to the sport.

Our mission in the past has been to focus on a smaller group of racers at a higher level, and to develop that talent to help them reach their best.  NashvilleCyclist.com has been fairly successful in being that stepping stone for many riders since our inception in 2006, and we hope this new adventure into the lower categories will further our accomplishments.

Our goal is to have at least 10 to 12 riders within those categories who are interested in racing together to further their development.  There are no specific qualifications other than possessing a positive attitude and willingness to be selfless in a team environment.  We desire Category 4 and 5 racers who will compete beyond the summer criterium race series and will travel occasionally to TBRA races or regional events.  The goal is for those riders to grow up together as they progress in the sport of bicycle racing.  When teammates race with one another regularly over a long period of time it allows everyone to reach levels of success they would not have been able to do otherwise.

If you already have a team to call home then our recommendation is to stay put, but if you are team-less then give this opportunity consideration.  To be considered email Tim Hall at info@nashvillecyclist.com.  Please include the following information within your email:

Full name and current location
Current category and license number
Previous riding and racing experience
Notable past racing results
Racing goals for 2012

We will respond to all inquiries quickly and hope to finalize the roster for these two categories before the end of 2011.
