Official race results at USA Cycling - 2011 Tennessee State Time Trial

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day in Lascassas to host the fastest bicycle racers in Tennessee.  The course proved to be very challenging as the wind played a big factor in the wide open countryside of Hwy 96.  Only 30 racers out of 152 were able to complete the 40k course with a sub-hour time. 

The fastest time clocked was from John Hart of the Friends Great Smokey (FGS) team at 53:27.14.  In fact, four out of the top five riders in the Elite Men division were from the FGS squad!  In the Elite Women category it was Marda Kaiser Rehnelt of ACCM team in Memphis with a winning time of 1:03:39.68.  Jason Tatum of the Bazaarvoice/TriStar squad won the Masters Men division with a time of 56:19.70. 

The race was followed by a podium presentation to award the TN State Championship medals.  It was exciting to witness the presentation as most of the competitors were there to applaud the winners.  Stay tuned to the TBRA website for the medal results to be recognized, and for TBAR Road Series points to be calculated.  Visit the link above to view race results that have already been submitted to USA Cycling.

Congratulations to everyone who competed in the event.  A time trial of this difficulty is no easy task, but you will be a stronger and smarter bike racer because of this experience.  We hope you enjoyed the course and had a wonderful experience, and we hope to see you back in Lascassas in 2012.  Thanks again for participating!

Official Start List & Times - 2011 Tennessee State Time Trial

NashvilleCyclist.com is proud to partner with MOAB Bicycles in Murfreesboro and Team Belladium out of Nashville to promote this state championship event on Memorial Day Weekend.  The race will be held in the small community of Lascassas, near Murfreesboro, on Saturday, May 28 prior to the MOAB Criterium on Sunday, May 29.

All information regarding the state time trial can be found on the flyer - location address, registration, updated race route, awards and contact info.  Registration for the State TT is CLOSED.

The time trial start line will be in front of Lascassas Elementary School on Hwy 96 and will be a 100% out-and-back on Hwy 96 with NO turns.  The course is marked in bright orange paint. 10k, 20k and 40k markings are on right side of shoulder.  The 40k turnaround is just past Kennedy Creek, which is past the convenience store in Hurricane Creek.  The finish line is in front of the stone wall, near the pavilion, a few hundred meters before the start line.

The course is fairly flat and fast with a couple of rollers.  There is a lot of shoulder space, and a small portion of road in Cannon County does have rumble strips along the white line.  However, the shoulder space is significant.  Every racer should race with their head up at all times.
