All, I'm interested in increasing my mileage (or time as I'm nearly always on the trainer these days) but I want to know what a safe percentage increase is from week-to-week.  When running conventional wisdom is increase between 10-15% from week to week.  Is there a cycling equivalent?  Thanks in advance.  Also, love the new site!

Right now I'm on the trainer 3 times a week for a total between 4-5 hours doing "Spinnervals" DVDs.

You can gradually increase your volume without it impacting you too greatly. Try going from 3x 4-5 hour total weeks by adding at least one outdoor ride that's 2-2.5 hours. Avoid too great of an increase too soon, such as going out and doing 3 hours in one day without having made a steady progression towards that duration. You can make your daily increases in 15-30 minute increments with your weekly increase in the 90-180 minute range depending upon the week within the build cycle. The key is spreading the stress out across the entire week and not getting it in huge chunks if you're body hasn't adapted yet.

Thanks for the help. I can't wait to get outside once this snow finally stops.
