ok, let's see if we can stump the crow. here is today's question:

as we all know, the biggest one day races on the pro calendar are called classics. of these, five races are above all the others in importance and are called monuments. what are the five monuments?

as always, honor system: looking it up is cheating.

winner gets a one day ride-along with travis werts on a sales trip. if travis wins, he gets a one day sit-along with phil at trace bikes.

The crow must be circling unable to land. Milan San Remo Paris Roubaix Leige-Bastone-Leige Amstel Gold Tour of Flanders Unless you are replacing Amstel Gold with Gent-Wevelgem or Fleche Wallone replaces it? I think the weekend races are more important, but Gent/Fleche are usually mid-week right? Though the others are older than Amstel. I'm sure I have spelled something wrong. Also, whatever you do, don't type up a bunch of text and then forget to type in the security code! I just did that a second ago and the program didn't save what I had typed and put me back at square one. NOT happy.

Fall classics continue to get no respect. Replace Amstel Gold with Tour of Lombardy. At least I think it's Lombardy instead of San Sebastian. Yep, Lombardy is my final answer.

Our friend Wikipedia has a nice breakdown of all this, but of course it's Wikipedia so I think I even saw the Avery Trace RR listed as a monument. It has a cool breakdown of who all has won the monuments, a similar view as if it were 'grand slam' events in tennis. Merckx of course way ahead of everyone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classic_cycle_races

the race of the falling leaves! yep. mmiller, you are correct! msr, roubaix, flanders, liege, and lombardy. you win, esp since tim just posted a link to wikipedia, which is expressly forbidden by the rules of message board trivia. congratulations, and enjoy your time with travis.

Whoa I guess I need to check back more often, I didn't even see that one until 10 minutes ago. This time I have a question for all of you, in the year 2003, what road team did Ryan Trebon race for? Ryan Trebon is a multi-time national cyclocross champ and is also known as the tree farm. looking it up is forbidden.

Seems like such a random question but since the Crow is asking I assume it's going to be a somewhat local team.  Don't know why Trebon would have ever been on a TN team, but I'll guess Memphis Motorwerks.

correctomundo tim. For some reason Trebon raced for the south east regional elite team Krystal. the only reason why I say for some reason is because he is an oregon native, kinda weird. Tim, you win size medium nashvillecyclist.com arm warmers, congrats.

nothing. crowson was just about to give another trivia question, and then we were gonna talk about all the wrestling wade used to do.... actually, now that we're on the topic of wade, i have a theory: i know that wade has had several different 'hobbies' in the past. cycling seems to have lasted longer than most, but i think that we're still in danger of him just pulling up stakes and deserting us one day. going out for a loaf of bread and never coming back kind of thing.....
